Local resident, Jason Baird, is on the shortlist for a new extreme show and he needs your votes. Jason was born in Gorton and now runs a Karate school from Broadstone Mill in Reddish. He wants to use the cash prize to help local kids and invest in the community, so it is well worth your time.
Reddish Vale High School are hosting their Open Evening 2016 this Thursday 22nd September. It is an opportunity for parents and children alike to visit the school and see what it has to offer, ahead of moving there next year.
It’s that time again… the Reddish Dog Show is on this Sunday 25th September from 2pm. Being hosted at Reddish Vale High School, you can register your dog for a number of classes from 1pm. It’s a great day for all the family, especially the dog!
With only 29 days to go until Reddish Vale Farm hosts the Tough Udder Challenge, excitement is starting to build… and there are still places available! You can now choose to run a 5K or 10K track, either by yourself or in a team. It is set to be a great day for all.

On Sunday 4th September, Debdale Park will open the gates to it’s brand new children’s playground. It has taken 6 years to get to this point but it looks fantastic. So if you are free and wanting something fun to do with the family, get yourselves down there and show your support.

Feeling adventurous or looking for the perfect team bonding day? Well, on September 18th, Reddish Vale farm are hosting the Tough Udder challenge! It is a 5k course and consists of 15 to 20 obstacles including a water slide! The event also includes a childrens obstable course, as well as food and drink! Plus a percentage of the entry cost goes to charity!
The Carousel pub, on Reddish Road in South Reddish, is currently celebrating all things pig and cider, within their Summer festival. The festival is live now and will be for the following few weeks, and includes a special ‘pig’ based menu and a wide selection of ciders. It sounds like the perfect way to make the most of this warm weather we are having!
It really is great to see our number one attraction, Reddish Vale Country Park, being included in an elite list of Greater Manchester’s recommended Summer hot spots, a list that includes the likes of Lyme Park and Dunham Massey. But once you get down there and see it for yourself it isn’t hard to see why. A good time to visit would be July 17th when they host their Summer Family Fun day.
