Following the huge success at their Denton restaurant, Mamma Mia have opened their second branch in Houldsworth Square – A Tavola. It has been open less than a week and is already the talk of the town, having received fantastic initial reviews. A Tavola is a Sicilian Street Food café which also offers a take-away deli and authentic Italian Ice Cream.
If you are stuck for plans this Saturday, the 26th November, then St Elisabeth’s Church are having their Christmas Fair. The Fair is free to attend and will be running between the hours of 11am and 2pm. It’s a great way to get the family in to the Christmas spirit, not that they will need it!
Always a popular calendar entry, the Reddish Christmas light switch on, at Houldsworth Square, has now announced it’s date. It will take place on Thursday 8th December, running from 12pm to 5pm, and is always a well received, Christmassy event for all the family.
The beautiful St Elisabeth’s Church in South Reddish is hosting the 2016 Reddish Wedding Fair. The event takes place on Sunday 30th October between the hours of 12.00pm and 16.00pm, and includes samples from local suppliers, covering all aspects of the big day. There are also a number of fashion shows throughout the day. There are still a few places available for suppliers to showcase their stuff, so get in touch if you have something to offer!

A good news story made the headlines this month when Reddish resident, Brenda, was reunited with her long lost brother, after being adopted at a young age. The opportunity came when Branda got inspired whilst listening to a similar story on a BBC Manchester radio show. She got in touch with the show and with their help and the help of the charity After Adoption, she finally made contact with her brother who currently lives in Maryland, USA.
The Dogs Trust in Denton are throwing a three day Yucky Hunt this Halloween, from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November. It is aimed at dog owners and their children and includes, on the Saturday, demonstrations and tricks from the dogs at the dogs trust. The Hunt also demonstrated ‘Scary’ things that can occur when people don’t look after their dogs health!

Local resident, Jason Baird, is on the shortlist for a new extreme show and he needs your votes. Jason was born in Gorton and now runs a Karate school from Broadstone Mill in Reddish. He wants to use the cash prize to help local kids and invest in the community, so it is well worth your time.
Reddish Vale High School are hosting their Open Evening 2016 this Thursday 22nd September. It is an opportunity for parents and children alike to visit the school and see what it has to offer, ahead of moving there next year.
It’s that time again… the Reddish Dog Show is on this Sunday 25th September from 2pm. Being hosted at Reddish Vale High School, you can register your dog for a number of classes from 1pm. It’s a great day for all the family, especially the dog!
